"Guten Morgen", sagt sie laut, als sie eine halbe Stunde später ins Büro kommt.	"Good morning," she says loudly as she comes to the office half an hour later.
Ein paar Personen drehen sich zu ihr um und antworten leise "Morgen".	A few people turn to her and quietly answer "Morning".
Dann konzentrieren sie sich wieder auf ihre Gespräche.	Then they focus on their conversations again.
Sie geht in die Küche, wäscht sich die Hände, atmet tief.	She goes to the kitchen, washes her hands, breathes deeply.
"Einen Kaffee für Sie?", fragt eine Stimme neben ihr.	"A coffee for you (official)?", asks a voice next to her.
Sie dreht sich zu Thomas: "Nein, danke Thomas, ich trinke keinen Kaffee."	She turns to Thomas: "No thanks Thomas, I don't drink coffee."
"Wirklich? Ich dachte, alle Polizisten trinken Kaffee", sagt er überrascht.	"Really? I thought all the cops were drinking coffee," he says in surprise.
"Genau so wie alle Polizisten in Amerika Donuts essen", antwortet sie mit einem charmanten Lächeln.	"Just like all police officers in America eat donuts," she replies with a charming smile.
Thomas ist Anfang 30, groß, sportlich, trägt eine Brille und lächelt viel, ...	Thomas is in his early 30s, tall, sporty, wears glasses and smiles a lot, ...
und ist der einzige Kollege, der gleich am ersten Tag zu ihr kam und ihr zum neuen Job gratulierte.	and is the only colleague who came to her just the first day and congratulated her on the new job.
Alles ist noch ganz neu für sie.	Everything is still brand new for her.
Ihr Büro wurde vor einer Woche neu renoviert.	Her office was renovated a week ago.
Überall riecht es nach frischer Farbe.	Everywhere it smells of fresh paint.

"Hauptkommissarin Samantha Osborn", steht darauf.	"Chief Inspector Samantha Osborn," it says there.
Erst am letzten Wochenende hat sie diese neue Position bekommen.	Only last weekend did she get this new position.
